Replit in ChatGPT lets you build real apps by talking to ChatGPT. Once you connect the Replit app, you can create, update, and inspect a Replit App in your account from a single conversation.
Want to jump right in? Follow the Build in ChatGPT quickstart to create your first app in 5 minutes.

Check availability

Apps in ChatGPT are available to all logged‑in users outside the EU on Free, Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise/Edu plans.
In Business/Enterprise/Edu workspaces, an admin must first enable the Replit app in Workspace settings → Connectors. If you don’t see Replit under “Browse apps”, contact your admin.
You’ll need a Replit account (Starter, Core, Teams, or Enterprise). A free Replit account works for trying the integration; Core and Teams are recommended for private apps, long builds, live deployments, and databases.

Connect Replit

1

Open Settings

In ChatGPT, select your profile icon → Settings.
2

Navigate to Apps & Connectors

Go to Apps & Connectors.
3

Browse for Replit

Scroll to Browse apps – Connect apps so you can talk to them with visual and interactive experiences in ChatGPT.
4

Connect

Select ReplitConnect.
5

Authorize

Review the data‑sharing summary and confirm. In the new window, sign in to Replit (or create a free account) and authorize.
6

Confirm connection

When you’re returned to ChatGPT, Replit shows as Connected.

From a chat

1

Start a new chat

Open a new conversation in ChatGPT.
2

Invoke Replit

Begin your message with Replit, ..., or type / in the composer, start typing “Replit”, and select it, or select the ”+” button → MoreReplit.
3

Complete connection

If Replit isn’t connected yet, ChatGPT will walk you through the same connect + OAuth flow.

Create your first app

Once Replit is connected, start building:
1

Invoke Replit

In a new chat, invoke Replit using one of the methods above.
2

Describe your app

Ask for an app:
Replit, build a modern landing page for my coffee shop "Cosmic Beans"
with a hero, menu grid, and contact form.
3

Watch Agent build

ChatGPT will:
  • Show a one‑line status (e.g., “Replit is creating your app now…”)
  • Display a build progress card as Agent works
  • Show an app preview card once ready
4

Interact with preview

Select the card or Full screen to open an interactive preview. Use the bottom overlay input to request changes or ask questions.

Iterate on your app

Keep using the same chat to evolve your app:
  • “Replit, add a split‑bill feature so each person sees what they owe.”
  • “Replit, restyle the page as a dark, terminal‑style UI.”
  • “Replit, add a testimonials section and a map to the footer.”
Behind the scenes, Agent updates the same Replit App, republishes it, and the preview refreshes. The cycle is:
Prompt → build progress card → updated preview card
To create a different app, start a new chat and call Replit there.

Ask questions

You can inspect your app without editing it:
  • “Replit, what fonts are used on the main page?”
  • “Replit, where is the checkout form handled?”
  • “Replit, what might be causing the login to fail on mobile?”
Agent analyzes your app and ChatGPT replies in natural language. For deep inspection with code paths and file names, select Open in Replit.

Use documents and context

ChatGPT can read PDFs, CSVs, and other common formats. You can:
1

Upload a document

Upload a file (e.g., a spec or report) to the chat.
2

Ask Replit to build from it

Replit, turn this PDF into a dynamic slide deck with
interactive charts and tables.
ChatGPT reads the file and passes Agent a text summary with relevant context.
If you need specific images or videos in your app, include public URLs in your prompt or add them later in Replit. The app doesn’t receive raw media files at launch.

Limits and what’s coming

At launch, the Replit app in ChatGPT:
  • Can only work on the app created in that specific conversation
  • Cannot open or modify:
    • Apps created in other ChatGPT threads
    • Apps you built directly in Replit
Feature parity with the full Replit experience (databases, secrets management, more advanced workspace controls) is coming later.

Build times and performance

Typical build times:
  • ~2–3 minutes for simple apps (calculators, small landing pages)
  • ~3–4 minutes for complex, heavy‑visual apps (games, rich animations, dense dashboards)
The build widget keeps you updated. Your app is ready when the preview card appears.

Billing and credits

Work done by Replit in ChatGPT is billed as Replit Agent usage in your Replit account.
  • Core and Teams plans include monthly credits that cover Agent, publishing, and databases up to your allowance
  • You can buy credit packs (100,100, 300, 500,500, 1,000 with discounts on larger packs) that expire after three months and do not auto‑renew—ideal for launch spikes or experiments
  • Use usage alerts and budget limits in Replit’s billing settings to cap spend

Troubleshooting

If you don’t see Replit in Browse apps, check:
  • Whether apps are available in your region
  • Whether your workspace admin has enabled the Replit app (Business/Enterprise/Edu)
If builds fail, open the app in Replit:
  • Check usage and billing
  • Use checkpoints and rollbacks to revert
  • Ask Agent for help directly in the Workspace
